tarot Workshops
I’ve been using tarot personally as a daily grounding practice for the past five years and as a writing prompt for the last two years. For the past three years, I have used tarot in my therapy practice as a supplement to help with patient insight and curiosity, both in individual and group work.
Workshops using my Tarot For Therapy Workbook help groups to become more cohesive and emotionally attuned. We begin by grounding. We then study the card's imagery, review its main themes, and use expressive writing and discussion to explore what it evokes for each person and the group as a whole. This helps participants change narratives that have kept them feeling scared, hopeless, unmotivated, and underutilized in their lives or work. It also allows them to see their strengths and where they thrive.
Who is this for:
Organizations that would like to encourage insight and development among their employees or groups through the use of tarot and psychology.
Details:
Workshops are 60-90 Minutes if using one card. If you would like a half-day/day-long program, please email me here for more details.
You tell me what you would like your organization's participants to focus on, and I choose the card or cards whose themes align with your mission.
Sample Workshop Agenda
Organization type: Nonprofit with 20 employees taking the workshop.
Participant Focus: A new project is about to begin, and you would like employees to meditate on how they can best show up for this endeavor.
Tarot Card: The Fool. This card indicates you are at the beginning of a new journey and in the energy of childlike innocence, play, or excitement. This is a moment to take risks.
Grounding Exercise
I would give a brief explanation of the card’s meaning and themes.
We would go around the room (virtual or in person), and each participant would say what they notice in the card, what these themes bring up for them, and how it relates to the start of the new project.
Next, using the workbook, we would move through two writing prompts that are emotionally relevant and understand what strengths or fears this card and the focus of this work bring up. If neither prompt resonates with a participant, they will be invited to write a story, essay, or poem inspired by the card and will be asked to reflect on how it relates to their emotions about their work or themselves.
A facilitated group discussion follows, allowing people to share, connect, and relate around how they can support each other in weak spots and build on what each person feels they contribute to make the project a success.
We close with another grounding practice.
Every participant will receive a complete Tarot For Therapy Workbook, which includes all 78 Tarot cards with emotionally focused prompts for each one.
Workshop rates start at $500 for 60 Minutes
